Mission
Inspired by Audre Lorde, it is my mission to transform the silence of and within our community into language, action and authentic visibility.
All things awe
In AWE isn't just a name – it's a declaration. A calling to witness and celebrate the power of our stories. I believe that within each of us resides a unique narrative, waiting to be heard, waiting to connect. Via In AWE, I provide the tools and the space for these narratives to emerge, fostering genuine connection and inspiring real change.
The name itself carries a dual significance, resonating in both English and Papiamentu. "In Awe" speaks to the profound amazement and wonder I hold for the human experience, the potential for beauty, and the strength found in vulnerability. Simultaneously, "awe," meaning "today" in Papiamentu, anchors us in the present moment. As such, my service practice embodies a contemporary approach to creative expression, embracing the ever-evolving landscape of communication and recognizing the urgency of sharing our stories today.

About me
Hi my name is Aqueene Wilson and I am the heart of In AWE. While many may know me as a portrait photographer, In AWE rests on the accumulation of all my skills, weaving together program making, communication arts, design, and writing into my practice.
I founded In AWE the way I do most things in life—intentionally and in line with where I am in life. After years of working (way too hard) for several cultural organizations in the Netherlands, the time was only ripe to start my own business when I moved back to Curaçao in 2024. Now I directly serve the boss babes, solopreneurs, small business owners and creative entrepeneurs, fostering visibility, representation, language, and belonging through collaborative projects.
More so, In AWE is a response to a cultural need. Born and raised in Curaçao, I've seen too many stories fade, due to our tradition in oral stories. While I cherish those traditions, I want to do my part in preserving, archiving and defining our identities through digital expressions - dripped in softness, wrapped in critical thinking and soothed with brown color palettes. So here we are, doing the thing: scared, happy and ready to crystalize your calling!
